About Dr. Nichols

Dr. Chris Nichols, a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. He trained in General Surgery at Columbia's Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY. Dr. Nichols received his medical degree from The University of Florida College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University. Dr. Nichols is a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, Washington Society of Plastic Surgeons, Pierce County Medical Society and the American Medical Medical Association. Dr. Nichols and his wife Susan moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2008 and enjoy the vast array of outdoor activities that the area provides including snowboarding, hiking, kite surfing and kayaking. They welcomed their son Remy in January 2011. Dr. Nichols is proud to serve the Tacoma and surrounding areas in all areas of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, including his dedication to breast cancer reconstruction.

Our Staff

The staff at Pearl Plastic Surgery is devoted to providing exceptional patient care to all of our patients. From your first contact with our office to scheduling surgery with Tara, your experience will be worry free and comforting. Our nurse, Lauren, has been a registered nurse for 5 years and is devoted to the delivering superb medical care while listening to your needs and guiding you throughout your care. All of our Medical Spa Services are performed by a licensed and certified Clinical Aesthetician with 10 years experience. Our cosmetic surgery patients are always seen by both Dr. Nichols and our Patient Care Coordinator who will be with you every step of the way, from initial consult to follow ups, to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Amy, our Cosmetic Registered Nurse Injector, has been a nurse for over 10 years and has been specially trained and has additional certifications in anti-aging treatments including Botox, Dysport and wrinkle fillers.

Meet Amy, RN Cosmetic Injector

Our Cosmetic Nurse Injector, Amy has over 10 years of nursing experience in many aspects of nursing, including Sedation, Gastroenterology and Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. Amy realized early on that she has a passion for medical aesthetics and has focused her energy in this field. She has had extensive training and experience in Aesthetics with a focus on facial injectables and neuromodulators (wrinkle fillers and Botox/Dysport). She received her certificate in Aesthetic Consulting through The Aesthetic Practice Association (TAPA) and continues to hone her skills as an avid member of this association. Amy is a Washington State native; she enjoys living in North Tacoma where she was born and raised. When she isn't here in the office, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she is working out, contributing to PTA functions and enjoying time with family and friends.

Meet Lauren, RN (medical)

Lauren joins Pearl Plastic Surgery with 5 years of experience in Women's Health and Cosmetic Device OR Education in Nursing. She moved to Gig Harbor in 2010 from Georgia where she was born and raised. In her spare time she enjoys working out, snow skiing, and kayaking and boating with her husband, family and friends.

Meet Nicol, RN

Nicol is a registered nurse who graduated with Highest Honors in 1998. She has spent the last 10 years as a RN in an outpatient surgery setting. Her passion and appreciation for art drew her towards the cosmetic and reconstructive setting where she has spent the last 4 years. Nicol has experience working in the operating room assisting with Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, as well as working closely with patients in the clinic. She and her family reside in the South Puget Sound region where she has lived since 1985. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and son traveling, enjoying music and the arts, spending time in the great outdoors, going to the beach and reading. She and her family are looking forward to the birth of their daughter in August 2011.

Meet Tara, Surgery Scheduler and Receptionist

Tara brings her 6 years of medical office experience to providing first-rate customer service to all of our patients. From scheduling your first visit with our office to arranging your surgery, you will be pleased with her positive attitude, attention to detail and kindheartedness. Tara recently moved to Tacoma from Ohio and enjoys exploring the Pacific NorthWest.

Meet Nichelle (Nicki), Receptionist and Cosmetic Patient Coordinator

Nichelle is a native resident of Washington State. With 10 years of experience in medical consulting for Plastic Surgery, she is an outstanding addition to our team. She has participated in on-going training and received 3 achievement certificates for excellent customer service and patient care. Her goal is to provide exceptional patient care and education to our patients. When she's not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters. She also likes to write music during her spare time.

Meet Susan, Clinic Manager

Susan has worked in Plastic Surgery for over 10 years, starting as Research Manager in a NIH lab. She has a BA in Biology from Southern Illinois University and studied for her Masters at Washington University in St. Louis. Before moving to Tacoma, she worked in medical sales for Olympus and as a Clinical Research Manager for an aesthetic company. Susan loves to travel but also enjoys the Pacific Northwest and the vast array of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, boating, SCUBA, kayaking and kite surfing when not entertaining son Remy.

Our newly built office features the most up-to-date patient care technology including the latest equipment and a Medical Spa that offers spa services performed by a licensed Clinical Aesthetician and overseen by Dr. Nichols. We've also eliminated all that paper and saved some trees!
